When I was in third grade, I began piano lessons with my Sunday school teacher, Barbara Hubert, who helped me to grow in my love and knowledge of music. I always knew I wanted to play the flute, which I was able to begin in fifth grade band, and I have loved it ever since! While working toward my BA in Music Education and Flute Performance (SPU, graduation 2022), I came back to the place where it all started for me as a Music Tutor in the Northshore School District to work with the beginning flute students. I spent the last two school years teaching Beginning 5th Grade Band in the same district and am currently teaching general music at Woodin Elementary. I’ve studied the flute under Diane Slater, Dr. Sandra Saathoff, and Dr. Sarah Bassingthwaighte, and have also studied piano with Asta Vaičekonis. I served on the board of directors for the Seattle Flute Society from 2018 to 2022, and I have worked with flute players ranging from beginners to high schoolers in both individual and group settings. I teach private flute lessons in Bothell, WA and am currently expanding my private flute studio. Let me know if you are interested in taking flute lessons!
